Luke Chueh's Target Wins "Best Vinyl" at the Designer Toy Awards!

The votes have been tallied and the verdict is in: Luke Chueh's piece "Target" has won "Best Vinyl" at The Designer Toy Awards!

The best part? This was all made possible by YOU. Sure, Pretty in Plastic's Julie B. worked with Chueh to sculpt the piece, and the folks at Munky King are great producers, but YOU turned out to vote for Chueh for the category of "Best Vinyl". We'd love to give each one of you a trophy if we could.

But since we can't, we can at least let you know about this rad new color-way of "Target: Self-Medicated", a variation on Chueh's winning piece that will be dropping soon. This limited edition piece will be available at Designer Con 2013 at the Pasadena Convention Center November 9th-10th. Be sure to congratulate Luke in person by swinging by Booth #818 at the event!

Tracy Tubera x Dr. Pepper

source: Vinyl Pulse

The folks behind Dr. Pepper have presented a unique challenge to a collection of eight of the best creatives in the game. Designers from fields such as clothing design, music, and skateboarding were presented with the task of creating a one of a kind collaboration based off of the Dr. Pepper can.

One of these competitors was Graphic Artist Tracy Tubera, who's design is shown above. Tubera first designed a sketch of his character, which was then turned into a 3d model, and lastly turned into a one-of-a-kind resin figure, with the help of Pretty In Plastic.
